Which One?

I can't make up my mind. Do I even need to? Hmm 2 You tell me. Both cards have the image, Poinsettia and Holly by Impression-Obsession, stamped in Brilliance Galaxy Gold on Curious Ice Gold text weight paper (first cut with Spellbinder Nestabilities Large Scallop Circle third from largest die), and was painted with Twinkling H2O's Garnet and Sweet Alfalfa. The poinsettia image was stamped 3 more times on the Ice Gold paper and then cut-out and layered as shown on each other with glue dots. The final layers were mounted on the paper with a dimensional pop dot.

The largest Scallop die was used to cut 1 circle from Curious Ice Gold text weight paper, and 2 circles from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth 80lb cover cardstock for the inside of the card.

A 1/4" Magic Matter guide was used to trace around one of the Solar White scalloped circles twice on a folded 8.5X11 folded piece of Glama Navtural Clear Vellum 48lb. Cover Vellum (bought on sale) to get the outside vellum card. The two scallops at the top were left connected and then reinforced with another piece of vellum to support the final card.

I got this idea from Lynda Benden at Stamp Act here. You really should check out her blog. She is one great card artist and designer. Mine is different because I wanted a bigger card, so my outside scallops are not as deep by using the Magic Matter.
Impression-Obsession Sprig (Leigh Hannan uses this design on a lot of her stamps as fill in. It looks great for inside the card and envelopes. A little design and not a lot of extra work.) was used to go around the edge of the vellum card with Brilliance Galaxy Gold and then painted the leaves with Twinkling H2O's Sweet Alfalfa.

Glossy Accents sprinkled with Butterscotch Translucent Mini Micro Beads were applied to the center of the poinsettia and allowed to dry. A light amount of Stickles Yellow glitter glue was applied on top to make them glisten a little, and they do. :-) The image was mounted to the middle of the Vellum cardfront. The ribbon is from Michaels.

Now the dilemma. Stickles Garnet was added around the Poinsettia on the Holly Berries. Stickles Diamonds was added to the Berries with the Sprigs near the Poinsettia and on the Sprigs near the scallops. On the second card I added more of the Stickles Garnet to the scallops on the main image and also to the scallops on the vellum. I can't seem to pick.

Thanks for stopping by 'the blog' to visit and to look.

Pearly Swirlies

The first time I saw Poinsettia Swirls online at Impression-Obsession, I had an idea of what to do with it. I had also just looked at Jay's first post about doing only portions of Cuttlebug embossing folders on Indigo Inklings. Her blog is incredible and you should go look if you haven't already. There are tons of ways to use your embossing folders and she also uses them in more than just the Cuttlebug.
I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth 80lb cover cardstock with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink and heat embossed to dry. The image was painted with Twinkling H2O's Garnet and Mellow Moss. Indigo Inkling's technique for Partial Cuttling was used to do the pieces of the cardstock you see that is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.
The Poinsettias only were stamped 6 times (three for each flower) with Brilliance Galaxy Gold , painted with Twinkling H2O's Garnet, then cut out. A pop dot was used on the bottom and glue dots were used for the layers to give them dimension. Stickles Orange glitter glue was used in the center of each flower. Mark Richards Crystal Stickers Elements 3mm and 5mm Pearls were applied as shown. The front was mounted to Stardream Fairway text weight paper.
The Merry Christmas, also by Impression-Obsession, was stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth 80lb cover cardstock with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink and heat set with a heat gun. Parallel lines were drawn on the top and bottom of the words and a rounded edge was drawn and trimmed. They were mounted to Stardream Fairway text weight paper. A Magic Matter with a pencil was used to get the edge around the words.
The ribbon is from Michaels eons ago. Thank goodness. I didn't have any other red that matched.
Thanks for stopping by 'the blog' to look.

Ghosts, Goblins, and Jack-O-Lanterns

Well maybe. When I saw the image below on the Impression-Obsession site it reminded me of a field of flowers with pumpkins, or jack-o-lanterns, as some people call them flying around at Halloween time. You tell me. They don't show up as well in the photo, but the little orange circles have yellow glitter where the eyes would be and then a little black nose. They are meant to be fire flies and I/O even has them in a jar for you. Now for the details. :-)

The stamp is called Summer Fields and was stamped with Brilliance Galaxy Gold on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth 80lb cover cardstock, heat embossed, and then painted with Twinkling H2O's Orange Peel, Fern, Icicles, and Lemon Yell0w. I went over the daisies, jack-o-lanterns, stars, and moon with my Ranger Bullet Perfect Pen, added Clear Embossing Powder and heat embossed. I got this tip from Zindorf's site. She uses a Versamark pen to protect her images. This was done to protect these images when the sky was added.

The sky was created with a sponge and SU Ballet Blue and Brilliant Blue Classic inks. I tried the Zindorf brayer way and it just didn't work for me on this project. I will try it again, but later. :-)

Last Stickles Yellow glitter glue was added to the eyes of the jack-o-lanterns, and the moon. Stickles Diamonds was added to the little flowers below the daisies in the grass, and Stickles Orange Peel was added to the centers of the daisies. The jack-o-lanterns (alias fire flies) were cut around with an X-acto knife and then mounted with a pop-dot to give them the appearance of floating. Eeeeeeeeeerrrrrrie! ;-) Glossy Accents was added to the jack-0-lanterns and the daisies to give them a little lift.

Martha Stewart's Embossed Zig-Zag Border Punch was used for the bottom of a 5X3.75 piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth cardstock. One of the borders from the new Cuttlebug folder Border Frills was used on the top. The holes were punched with a 1/8" Fiskars Circle Punch. Then the image was mounted on it. The Cuttlebug border was also done on the blue cardstock and then also punched with the Fiskars circle punch. The image was mounted on that. The ribbon on the white cardstock is from Michaels $1 bin. The cardfront was then mounted on a card of white so the punched circles would show. We all know its a "dotty" world lately, right? If you have any questions I can promise my Email Me on the right side bar does work.

EMBOSSED BRILLIANCE W/O EP

Several people have asked me to show how I use Brilliance Ink Pads to stamp my images. First I would like to print what Tsukineko states about the Brilliance ink pad:

Fast-drying ink and rich pearlescent colors... you never thought you'd see this combination from a pigment ink. Designed for use on shiny papers, Brilliance dries to perfection on vellum, mica, acetate, photo papers, sculpey clay, shrink plastic, and much more! Brilliance is the solution to all your tricky pigment stamping problems. Ideal for scrapbook embellishments - no smeared pages or smudged page protectors.
Their statement is true, but does not state how it reacts on regular matt cardstock and that it actually raises up when heated and sometimes when left to dry on its own. Also, have any of you ever smudged your Brilliance because you didn't wait long enough for it to dry. Well I have. So when I was a hurry I heated it and discovered that it has a tendency to raise up. I did the following tutorial to show you what I mean by raised up and also how it looks when used with any watercolor. I just happen to use Twinkling H2O's. Below I describe the way I use Brilliance pads:

Supplies:

Heat Gun - (One with a plastic tip protecting the user from a hot metal end)
Scratch Paper under cardstock - It gives me a more even impression
Brilliance Ink Pad - Inked: Not dripping, not dry. Dry pads waste paper.
Briliance Reinker
Stamp - Open or detailed is fine. Today's is open to show how the impression looks.

When I use unmounteds with acrylic blocks, I found saving the protective paper that comes on the back of the mount, then putting it back onto the clingable part, after cleaning the stamp, helps preserve the cling effect. That's it laying loose and curling up on the left side of the stamp.

I get better impressions by laying my stamp down with stamping side up and then patting it with the ink pad. It gives me a more uniform coverage of ink on the stamp and I can see if it's inked everywhere. If it isn't the pad is dry. I pat from top to bottom and lastly check for complete coverage. It saves paper.

Next I heat it with the heat gun. I grab the heat gun and hold it like it shows above. (I see people holding it by the end or grabbing it around the vents.

First, I can't imagine anyone doing a lot of embossing when holding it by the tip and wiggling it all over the place. It does build finger muscles. Just kidding. ;-)

Second, if its gripped by the vents the gun will burn up sooner so you can buy another one. :-(

Third, shaking it doesn't prevent someone from burning up the embossing powder, etc., it just takes them longer. :-) True fact.

Sometimes I do hold the cardstock and emboss moving the cardstock or the gun, but not all over the place. I move one or the other slow and steady. I am careful not to get too close or too far away. You will know from enough practice.

At last, if my stamp was inked properly it will feel raised up when I am done, and should look like the picture below:

I purposefully left the image above without decreasing it. I wanted you to be able to get a good look at it before I do some painting (click on it for a close-up). By the way, this image is Poinsettia Swirl by Impression Obsession and is one of their new Christmas stamps. Below is what it looks like it looks like when you paint inside or on it as well. If you single click on it you can get another close up of what it look like when you paint over it with twinks. So.....that's it!
I am going off to work on some more cards and I don't know what this will look like when I am done. If you have more questions about it that I didn't answer completely, please feel free to Email Me by clicking on those exact words in the sidebar on the right. Thanks for stopping by "the blog".

A Very Shelly Christmas

I love shells, don't you? I think almost everyone does. This tree has it all if you like the ocean too. The image is Ocean Tree by Impression-Obsession and was stamped with Brilliance Galaxy Gold on Curious Ice Gold text weight paper. Stickles Glitter glues was used for the crabs, fish and starfish. Jones Tones Foil Glue and Pearl Swirl Foil were used for the little circles on the fish and the scallop shells. The starfish were stamped on a separate piece of Ice Gold cardstock and then mounted with dimensional glue dots.

The waves were done with Sparkle and Sprinkle Dimensional Glue and Starfire Glitter. I am sure any dimensional glue and transparent sparkle glitter will do. Mark Richards 3mm Pearls were applied to the ocean wave bubbles randomly. The sand along the bottom of the tree is USArtQuest Mica Flakes Gold Medium PFX702.

AMACO Bright Gold Embossing Sheet and a Cuttlebug Vintage Die was used for the upper left hand corner adornment. The open areas were filled with the dimensional glue and glitter used on the waves. The gold metal piece on the bottom right hand corner is a left over from the die cut. The way I did the corner so it wouldn't lose its shape would be another tutorial. If you would like to see how I do that, email me by going to the sidebar on the right where it says Email Me. The ribbon is grosgrain from Wal-Mart. The orange dots are Stickles Orange glitter glue.

The image was mounted on Bazzill Bling Karat and the dots were applied with a White Signo Uni-ball pen. I think I have had enough of dots for a while, but I promise nothing. :-)

I am going to try to do the stamping with Brilliance pads tutorial next. Hopefully maybe tomorrow. Thank you for stopping by "the blog".

A Wonderful Surprise Today

I received the most wonderful and thoughtful surprise today from LadyDoc at Tilting Windmills. You should visit her blog if you haven't been there before. She has some wonderful information and is truly a fun person who posts fun things. She awarded me with this award:

I want to say thank you and I am so honored that you chose me. I understand I am supposed to list the giver's name and blog site, which I have done above, and then pass this on to 3 people whose blogs I love. I have such a list of blogs in my Feed doomafloppy that I am going to give it to those who deserve, but haven't been chosen as far as I can determine. The three blogs are:

My friend, Jackie Just Stamp It. Not only are her cards wonderful, but she posts a lot of cards sent to her by others. She just gave her blog a new do.

The next person is Etha at More Green Wool. She had beautiful cards and also some pictures of pets, butterflies, etc. that will make you wish you lived where she does.

The last, but not least by any means, is Ret at Cards 'n Crafts by Ret. She hasn't had her blog too long, but I have enjoyed every card she posts. She just got back from a month long vacation, so she owes us some more cards.

There are so many more blogs that I visit every day and they are all wonderful so my love doesn't stop here....................

Thanks for stopping by the blog to see my present and thanks again LadyDoc.

Hoos Got Candy?

I decided it was time to try dots. I see so much of them online. Well I am not the Queen of Dots. I think that should belong to Faith at Stampin' With Markies Mom, but I tried. Her cards are sensational, dots or no dots. It was fun. Now about the card ;-):

This sweet image, Candy Corn Tree by Impression-Obsession, was stamped with Brilliance Gold Galaxy on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth 80lb.cardstock and painted with Twinkling H2O's Lemon Drop, Orange Peel, Icicles, and Warm Pecan. The little pumpkin was painted with Orange Peel and Midori Melon. Glossy Accents was applied to the corn and pumpkin. The Moon and background are Lemon Drop, Warm Pecan, and Midori Melon. The image was mounted on Curious Bronze cardstock.

That cute little Owl, also by Impression-Obsession, was stamped with Brilliance Gold Galaxy, painted with Warm Pecan and Icicles. The beak and feet were painted with a very light light Orange Peel. Clear Gelly Roll Stardust pen was used on his white feathers, Bronze Gelly Roll Stardust pen was used on his dark feathers. He was cut out and the edges of his body were done by running the edges over a Sharpie Brown medium point pen. Before I did his eyes I applied Glossy Accents to all of him and let it dry. His eyes were done with a Golden Gelly Roll Stardust pen and when dry the Bronze Gelly Roll Stardust pen was used to do the centers of his eyes. He was mounted with a large pop dot on the tree branch.

The words, Hoo's Got Candy by Impression-Obsession, were stamped with Clearsnap Mica Magic Bronze ink.

The background behind the main image was done by putting Bazzill Bling Bright Lights through the Cuttlebug in the Perfect Paisley embossing folder. Then the indented dots were done with the Bronze Gelly Roll Stardust pen.

Oh boy, more dots. Well...........I did the ones on the Solar White Cardstock with my paper piercer and lined them up by using a clear ruler along the edge and eyed the middle of the margin. Then I went back over them with the Bronze Gelly Roll pen.

The White dots were done on Curious Bronze cardstock using a White Signo Uniball pen. It was very cool because it dries as a layer and if I made a mistake when it dried I could scrap it off "carefully" with my X-acto knife and correct without a mess. If anyone knows how to do this in an easier way, please email me by using the light blue Email Me link in the right hand side bar.

The ribbon is by May Arts and has the most beautiful dark brown and copper sheen to it. I hope you can tell. It i s so soft to the touch.

This card was a rare experience. I have not done a card without pearls, rhinestones, metal, or beads as embellishments for a long long time. Thanks for looking and stopping by "the blog" to visit.

Victorian Bloom One from Impression-Obsession

When Impression-Obsession posted their new stamps a few weeks ago I knew I had to have this one. The image is Victorian Bloom One and was stamped; with Brilliance Gold Galaxy on Neenah Paper Classic Craft Natural Super Smooth 80 lb. cardstock.
*(I don't use embossing powder when I stamp with any Brilliance pads. If
the pad is properly inked it will raise up when you heat it as if you had used
some Embossing Powder on it.) If anyone would like me to demo this and then provide pictures
let me know and I will be happy to do it here. I think if you try it you will like it. Don't saturate, just well inked. Let me know what you think.

I painted the image with a Niji Waterbrush using Twinkling H2O's Pink Crocus, Cherry Sorbet, and Sweet Alfalfa. I almost forgot to tell what I did with the flower petals and the 2 sets of prominent leaves on the stem. I cut the edges with an X-acto Knife and then used folded glue dots underneath to get a raise from the paper. I think I saw this on an SU Demo site. If anyone knows where, please let me know so I can give credit. It looks so wonderful with just the slight raise. I also used dimensional glue and Art Institute Mellow Yellow Glitter along the center slit of the flower.
All of the pearls are Mark Richardson Crystal Stickers Elements. If A Cherry On Top doesn't have them try Hobby Lobby where you live. They go fast because they are so much cheaper than the other companies. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby too. The words are from Paper Salon and were stamped with Brilliance Gold Galaxy. The Butterfly Punch is Martha Stewart and the paper is Stardream Metallic Amber text weight. I show the Michaels link for the punch because you can't locate it on Martha's site and I certainly wouldn't pay what they want on EBay. I bought mine at Wal-Mart. The Doily Lace Punch is also Martha Stewart and can be bought at Wal-Mart too. I used Bazzill Paper for the Dark Olive Green cardstock and the Chiara Rose Quartz text weight is Stardream.
*I mount all of my cards on either a White cheaper cardstock or a similar
Vanilla, also cheaper cardstock. I make the cardfronts separate for two
reasons. The first is because if I ruin it I haven't ruined a whole half
sheet of colored cardstock. I make a lot of cards and it is cheaper this
way. Also, I find it easier than cutting and pasting paper inside so others can read what I say. It's just a personal thing.

This was a really easy card to do. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by "the blog" to look.

I Brake for Stamps With Embossed Edges

I stamped this image months ago on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth cardstock and just now got around to finishing it. It is Cherry Blossom with Dream from I Brake for Stamps. You really should look at her site. Della has one of the most complete stamps sites I have seen. Oh and here's another wonderful shopping advantage. She sells unmounted and will add cling mount for only 50 cents per item. Way to go Della!!!

Anyway, back to the image. It was stamped with Brilliance Galaxy Gold and painted with Twinkling H2O's. Then Glossy Accents and Amber Micro Beeds were added to the centers of the flowers. Stickles Diamond Glitter Glue was to the butterflies wings and Black Onyx flatbacks were added to the body of the butterfly with clear glue. Here's a close up below:

The embossed edges are from the new folder, Frills, by Cuttlebug. You can find out how to keep from having "Ridges" like Ruffles Potato Chips by going to Indigo Inklings, a really informative site about this. The dark blue background paper is some I bought with a Strathmore Pad eons ago. The ribbon is from May Arts.

Its been a while since I have posted and I want to thank you for stopping by "the blog" again to look. Hope you like the links I have posted to help you with your techniques and your cards. If you have questions, always feel free to email me using the link in the sidebar to your left.

Flap Card Fold Tutorial

Ms Detail here confused some people on the flap card, when it should have been simple. I decided the saying, "A picture tells a thousand words," is indeed correct, so here is my tutorial and I apologize for the confusion. Let me know if this clears up any questions you might have had.

Supplies:

8.5X11 Cardstock
Paper Cutter
Scor-Pal or Scor-It or fingernail!
Scissors
Pencil
Ruler
Eraser
Protective Mat
Circle Template, etc. for the edge of flap
Decorative Scissors, etc. for flap edge
Background paper 2.75X4.25
Main image for flap (Ocean Shell)
Background paper for cardfront 4.25X4.25
Main decorative paper for cardfront (Shell Wave Border) 4.0X4.0
Dental Floss Threader for Bridges, etc. (idea from Peggy Robinson on TJ Yahoo group)
Ribbon
Step 1
Cut an 8.5X11" piece of cardstock in half, each 4.25X11". Lay one piece on your Scor-Pal using the 0 and 11 as guidelines and score at the 4.25 and 8.5 marks. You should now have a card with the longest folded up and the the 2.5 piece folded over the two measuring 4.25.

Step 2
Fold your card at the creases and it should look like the above picture. The first two folds on your left measure 4.25X4.25 and the one on your far left is the flap and measures 2.5X4.25.

Step 3
Turn the 2.5X4.25 toward you (the flap) and line up your template to get your curve, unless you decide to leave it square. Use a pencil to draw your half circle. Leave a little room on the edge so you can make the scallops needed. You are going to find your scallops may start a little down from the edge on the left. You'll see what I mean when you start to cut.

STEP 4
Trim around the edge using the penciled semi circle as your guide, with the pointed ends of each scallop hitting on it.
Step 5
If you want to add cardstock background on the flap, tape around the scallops and across the top portion of the flap.
Step 6
Mount your background paper, 2.75X4.25 onto the taped area. You can see in the next picture.

Step 7.
Trim around the white scallops with scissors.

Step 8
When you are done it will look something like the above and you are ready for your image.

Step 9
Mounted the image by taping the top half of it. Place it half-way down so it will overlap the scallops.

Step 10
Place a protective mat between the flap and the rest of the card. Now you will do the slits for the ribbon to come through the flap. Mark at the middle of 4.25, which is 2 1/8 below the shell. Then mark about 1/8 of an inch to the left and to the right of that. I used an X-acto knife to place the slits.
Step 11
Then increase each slit a little so there will be room for the ribbon to come through as shown above. Erase the middle mark.

Step 12
The first picture above shows what cardstock used to complete the cardfront, inside the card and the envelope. The hand stamped and painted cardstock is trimmed to 4X4. The extra is trimmed for pieces to use on the inside the card and on the envelope. First attach your background paper 4.25X4.25. Then mount the prepared background paper or printed paper, only attaching it to the top portion of the paper you mounted first.
Step 13
Place the protective mat between the cardfront cardstock and the background. It means when the ribbon is mounted it won't show through on the inside of the card. Next, pull down the flap over your cardfront beneath it. Use your already made flap slits as a guide to make 2 more slits, this time in the background paper underneath.
Step 14
Look closely at the above photo and see the dental floss guide. I put one end of the ribbon through it and then thread it though the left slit from top to underneath. Once the ribbon and the threader are all the way though that slit, thread it up through the other slit until threader and the tip of the ribbon are though. Bring through enough ribbon to get a nice bow and cut the other end. Even up the ribbon. Seal the rest of your cardstock down to the other background paper on the cardfront.

Step 15
Now you can use the trimmed pieces from your stamped background paper to decorate the inside of the card and envelope. You can also add a greeting if you like. Below is the finished card.

All of the details on the supplies used for this card can be seen with direct links on the post directly below this one. Thank you for stopping by "the blog".

Ocean Shell Flap Card

I have seen so many cute Flap Cards that I just had to try it. Of course, I changed it a little because I wanted a different size that would work well with an A2 envelope, so this card is 4.25X4.25. The direction on putting the card together are directly after this post or you can look under Tutorials for Flap Card in the side bar on the right.

The cardstock, behind the shell image and behind the shells on the cardfront, is actually Stardream Chiara Rose Quartz text weight 80 lb. paper.

The main image on the card flap is Ocean Shell by Impression-Obsession. It was stamped with Brilliance Gold Galaxy on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth cardstock, and painted with Twinks Fuzzy Peach and Icicles. Shimmerz Glue was used to highlight the middle three edges in the middle of the shell. Next Jones Tones Foil glue was applied and let dry until it was clear, but tacky. Jones Tones Foil Pearl Swirl was then applied. To give it the shell shine I used Glossy Accents. I applied Twinks Golden Sand and more Shimmerz Glue to do the waves around the edges. It was cut out and then mounted about half way down and in the middle of the scallops on the Rose Quartz background. I also applied Mark Richards Crystal Stickers Pearls.
For the cardfront that folds up beneath the flap, a 4.25X4.25 piece of Stardream Chiara Rose Quartz paper was mounted. Then the Shell Wave Border by Impression-Obsession was stamped with Brilliance Gold Galaxy on another piece of the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper 4.25X5.5. I stamped in the middle first and then in the middle of each side and the middle image. The shells were painted with Twinks Fuzzy Peach, Golden Sand, Icicles, Solar Gold randomly. It was trimmed to 4X4". The extra was saved for inside the card and the envelope. The ribbon is by May Arts.
Inside the card the words were stamped with Brilliance Gold Galaxy and are from Angel Fish set by Impression-Obsession. The I trimmed above and below the words with pieces from the cardfront I did with Shell Wave Border.
This was fun. It shows how I usually build a card. I start with the main image and go from there. More detail how to do the Flap card itself in the post directly after this one. Thanks for stopping by "the blog" to look.

Last Ocean Flower of Summer

Hard to believe Summer is almost gone. I decided to use my Ocean Flower stamp by Impression-Obsession before my new ones arrive. That's right. Impression-Obsession now has all of their NEW Fall-Winter stamps online. Enough of that for now. Let's get down to business. {SMILE} Fun that is.

I had the hardest time getting a good picture of this card. The added Rangers Stickles Yellow Glitter glue really had a glare to it. Ha! I stamped it with Brilliance Galaxy Gold and then painted it using a Niji waterbrush and Cherry Sorbet, Sweet Thistle, and Wild Vine Twinkling H2O's. The words are from a clear Impression-Obsession stamp set, Sentiments I. I have both the I and II because they are different fonts and fit almost every occasion. They were stamped with Stazon Vibrant Violet and the enhanced with Copic At You Spica Lavender. The dotted swiss around the flower is from one of Cuttlebug's new combo embossing folders Just My Type. The background paper framing it is Stardream Amethyst text weight. The dots were made using a Signo Uniball White pen, from an office supply store, and a ruler placed along side to put the dots at an even distance. The Dotted Swiss Ribbon is by May Arts. The pearls, AH YES THE PEARLS, especially that "BIG DUDE". I bought that when I didn't check out the size online and I have more where that came from. {SMILE}. They are from Mark Richards Crystal Stickers Elements.

Inside the card and on the envelope I used the fish from Seascape by Impression-Obsession. I didn't have to just stamp a piece of the stamp either. Because I can buy from I/O unmounted with repositionable cling, I just clipped the fish separately and stamped it that way. The small seaweed is from their Angelfish clear stamp set. The fish and the weeds were all painted with the Twinks I used on the flower. I highlighted them a little with the Stickles Yellow glitter glue.

Faux Dichroic Glass, one of my techniques, will be featured as one of the 10 Bonus Techniques on the CD. Below is one of the cards I made using the Faux Dichroic Glass technique. The stamps used were from Impression-Obsession and American Art Stamps. The technique is relatively easy and fun to do. It would also make great jewelry items like the bracelet Lisa Somerville made and displayed on her blog here.

Thanks for stopping by "the blog" to look.
