Mr. Owl Makes A Statement In Triple Dimension

I wanted to find the perfect background for the Ornate Owl by Impression-Obsession designer Leigh Hannan. After searching through my Technique Junkie printed copies of techniques I wanted to try, I found what I think was the perfect one. It's called Triple Dimension from the 02/06 Newsletter. The stamps I used for the background are Lovely Leaves by Stampin' Up. I believe it is retired. You'll have to tell me what you think.

I stamped the owl on white cardstock with Timber Brown Stazon ink. I used the great little bottle tool, Nancy Judd talks about on her blog, filled with Glossy Accents to apply the Art Institute Glitter to the Owl. I pruchased my bottle online. For anyone who is interested you can email me by looking in the right hand column under the Splitcoast Bloggers Club widget. I altered his eyes from the stamp version of half closed to full open. Ranger's Glossy Accents was also used on his eyes after painting them with a Sharpie Brown pen for the pupils and Copic At You Spica Lemon for the irises. The dots on his body and fill-in for his face were done with the Sakura Gelly Roll Bronze Sparkle. Glossy Accents were applied after and gave it a Cloissone effect.

The ribbon is a combination 0f Michaels brand and May Arts. The leaf charm is from AC Moore I think. The paper punch is the Small Oval by Stampin' Up. The word is from the Word Plate I from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. The trim around the word is Rangers Stickles Golden Rod.

Thank you for stopping by.

Wonderful owl Shirley! Triple dimension is one of my favorite techniques. It's easy to do and the results are always terrific. I actually incorporated it into one of my card making classes.
