Parade of Trees #3 I Think

I've seen people using the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Lace Tree, and was really taken with the different images in it. So naturally I had to paint it. I used a needle nose plastic bottle to apply the glue for the glitter. The Lace Tree was trimmed with scissors and mounted with glue dots. The Stickles glitter glue and the pearls were applied just before the bow was done. The bow at the top of the tree was done using the Martha Stewart method.

The ribbon up the side was done using the Japanese Stab Binding technique as shown below. I only did the cardfront and not the inside folded card. You may get a better idea of what I did by reading this Bibliophile I was able to find. Please keep in mind I only did the top cardfront layer. Supplies:
Image:
- Neenah Paper Classic Crest Solar White Super Smooth 80 lb. cardstock - 4.25X5.5 and 5.5X11
- Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Lace Tree
- Twinkling H2O's Jasper Red and Sweet Alfalfa applied with a Niji waterbrush
- Stickles Yellow Glitter Glue
- 3-D Glitter Glue - I suggest one that dries clear.
- Art Institute Glitter: Ultrafine Transparent Sea Shell
- Large Pop Dots and the leftovers around the dots
- May Arts Sheer Iridescent Dark Red Ribbon
- Mark Richards Crystal Stickers 5mm Pearls

Background:
- Neenah Paper Classic Laid Solar White 80 lb. Cover cardstock - 4.25X5.5
- Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Textile Texture
- Stampin' Up Garden Green cardstock - 4.25X5.5

Thanks for stopping by 'the blog' to look and share.

I loved the close up picture because I was able to see other details I missed when I first looked at it. I love the bow and how you twirled the ribbon down the sides just like a real christmas tree. I love the colors on teh embossing and the glitter and that you cut it out..

  30. Wow!! Beautiful!! And I am not only referring to this card, but the gorgeous Hallow E'en card that arrived for me today!! Thank you, Shirley! Your cards for me and you-know-who arrived after I left for work today, and were waiting for me when I got home this evening. As soon as I am around during daylight hours, I will take a pic for my blog.

I loved the candy corn tree! We don't get candy corn over here, so it's really novel!

Thanks, again, and I will be sure to pass on your card to the appropriate party in due course. ;o)

    hugs,
