A Girly Card

I have never done one of these cards that I can remember. The minute I saw this stamp I liked it and didn't know why. It was different for me and so I thought I would do a different color combo than I usually do too.

It was stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Archival Jet Black. Copic Spica At You Red was used for all of the areas on the mannequins that are not black. Red and Onyx Black rhinestone stickers from Mark Richards were also used as shown. That was mounted on Stardream Inferno. The dashes around the edges is Stickles Black Stardust Glitter Glue.

The background was created using Cuttlebug embossing folder Victoria and Neenah Solar White cardstock. That was also mounted on some Inferno. A piece of May Arts Black Crocheted Ribbon was placed in the middle of the background. The image was mounted in the middle on top.

The black heart clip from my miscellaneous stash was placed on the left. The red rhinestone is by Mark Richards. The tag is actually a real tag cut down and edged with a red marker. The dotted red ribbon is old and from WalMart. Some of the small red rhinestones were also added to the centers of the flowers in the black crocheted ribbon. The small gold heart is from Fancifuls, Inc.

It's Shaped Cards - Anything But A Rectangle Challenge Time

At IO. I chose to give a Sneak Peak at one of Gary Robertson's new stamps, Butterfly Scene. He does some really creative things with his scene stamps and this is just one of them. I stamped it on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Archival Jet Black ink. It was painted with Twinkling H2O's and then highlighted with Ranger Stickles glitter glues.

I trimmed around the image and then adhered it to Black Laid cardstock. A 1/8" Magic Matter disc was used to trace around the image.

I put a Solar White piece of cardstock through the Cuttlebug using one of their embossing folders. I mounted the butterfly layer to it and used the next to largest Magic Matter to trace around it. I scored it at the top of the traced image and then folded and cut around the image for the card. The top portion was inserted into a Cuttlebug embossing folder and put through the Cuttlebug. That was mounted to more Black Laid cardstock as a base. I traced around that, again using the 1/8" Magic Matter.

The May Arts Ribbon was woven through the holes, created by the shape of the butterfly wings, and then the Bow-Easy was used to create the bow. Mark Richards Black Onyx rhinestone stickers were added to give the card a flow from upper left to bottom lower right.

The image was mounted in the center using 3D pop dots. Extra butterflies were stamped and mounted for a 3D effect. After painting with Twinks, I rubbed the tops with Dorland's Wax. It seals it so I can use Stickles of different colors and they don't absorb the watercolor underneath to change the color.

A Different Kind Of Post

I can't help but be so sad and concerned by what has happened in Haiti. It is the poorest of the poor nations in our hemisphere. I heard about being able to donate to their cause by Googling, of course. :o( Below is a list of some of the organizations that are there. If you wamt an update of those taking donations, you can go to CNN Impact Your World, and there is a complete list of all of the organizaions on the ground helping with the afflicted. As Teresa, from Tilting At Windmills said, "There is also Doctors Without Borders". They are listed on the Impact Your World.

UNICEF and Save the Children already have emergency teams in Haiti, and the Red Cross has released $200,000 in disaster funds. I do know that the Red Cross will not allow people in areas where there might be a danger to their workers.

A Video Of How To Use the Mega Mount

I had someone ask me about using the Mega Mount. She commented she should probably watch the video before asking. I said, "Is there a video?" as an email response question. Then I did what I always do to learn or find things.....I Googled...........

And I found a YouTube video demonstrating the Mega Mount by Melanie, the owner of Scrapbooks & More, in Knoxville, TN. I tried to find an email to let her know I was using her YouTube video, but didn't find one. So Melanie, if you read this, this "shout out" is for you and to say, great way to go with your video. Let's hear it for Melanie from the rest of you too!
