A Special Request

I found a post on another blog, The Paper Landscaper, that I receive through FeedBlitz. She was asking for readers to go to a thread on Splitcoast Stampers and to send a card to the Cancer patient for whom the thread was started. I put my card(s) in the mail this morning. I also sent one for the person who requested the cards for her friend. I am asking for anyone who reads "the blog" to read the thread and please mail a card for Shelly. I can not even imagine how difficult the days to come may be for her, her family, and her friends.

I almost forgot to mention that if you post a comment on the thread that a card is coming, it bumps the thread to the top of the forum threads, so it is likely more people will read and also send a card. I hope the way I worded that isn't confusing!!!

Thank you for stopping by "the blog".

I've Been Given a Wonderful Surprise

Last evening I received the most wonderful surprise below by Shar of Ill Tempered Ink. It is called the Arty Y Pico Award. What an honor and high point of my week. The award was first received by a lady named Eseya from Uruguay, South America. I speak a little (very little) Spanish, but I believe the title means "Art And A Little of Other Things Too" This is Eseya's site, which is supposed to be posted each time the award is given by the person receiving it.

You then pick five blogs that you believe deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and their contribution to the blogging community. List the names of the people you chose to receive the award on your blog and link to their blogs. Then let your award winners know by posting a comment on their blog. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name of the person who gave them the award with a link to her/his blog. You also need to show the link to the Arte Y Pico blog to honor the origin of this award.

And the artists I select humbly for this award are:

Pat Huntoon - The Technique Trail

Kim Bennington - Thompson - Kim's Daily Grace

Nancy Judd - Inkblocks

Beth Norman - Sunflowers & Drangonflies

Jackie Parkins - Just Stamp It

And having done all of this, I need to say that I believe all of the ladies that are listed in My Favorite Blogs are so entitled to receive this award, but I was only allowed 5. Drat. So I would really appreciate it if all of you selected would consider all of the people who haven't received it that are listed in "MY FAVORITE BLOGS". Thank you one and all, and a special thank you once again to Shar!!

Thanks again for stopping by "the blog".

Beautiful RAK From a Dear TJ Friend

What an artist!!! LaVerne Wilson created this masterpiece. She took the Technique Junkie Waxy Cuttlebug technique to a new level for me. Now I have to try it like this too! LOL If you would like to see it even better, click on the image. The words are stamped on vellum. The centers of the roses are highlighted with glitter glue for added interest. I love the whole card, LaVerne. Thank you for thinking of me.

And thank you all for stopping by to see "the blog".

From My Pen Pal Down Under

I had a pleasant surprise in my mail box recently. I have a young Pen Pal that I met though one of my Technique Junkie friends. His name is Ben and he lives on the Northern island in New Zealand. He loves to do the things that most boys his age like to do. He enjoys water sports, bowling, mini golf and his favorite is watching the NFL, right here in America! I don't watch football much at all, but if Ben thinks it great I may have to check that out. He also likes to draw and do stamping a little. I think he gets that from his aunt, who is a great stamper.

Ben's cards to me are always bright and cheerful like the one above. Thank you, Ben, for such a wonderful gift for Easter and also for the great information you provided about what you have been doing. There is a card on its way back to you, Ben.

Thank you all for stopping by to share my gift from my friend, Ben, down under.

Three Beautiful RAK's

First things first! The card above is just beautiful here and in real life "natural light". It was sent to me by Karen Vandivier. Out of the blue and just before St. Patrick's day, when I really needed cheering. The background looks like it was done with either Pearl Ex or Emerald Ritzy Ditzy Glitz by Powder Keg. Of course the embossed area was done with the Cuttlebug Spots & Dots. A really wonderful and cheerful card. Thank you so much Karen. And then came Easter and this beautiful card from my friend Connie Thorson! Connie is one of those people who says a lot with a few words. Her cards are always beautiful and this one is no exception. I can tell she painted the bunny and the words with Twinkling H2O's. That paper just really ties the whole card together. Thank you so much Connie for thinking of me.

This beautiful card is from Melissa Banian, my Technique Junkie Just One Partner for March.
I hope my pictures do this card justice, but we know they never do. The technique is Polished Acetate from CD5 04/07. The main Images are embossed and have such a stark beauty. She has highlighted the wisps of vines with glitter and they sparkle. She embellished it with a beautiful silver butterfly. I also included the inside because it too is just beautiful. I hope you can tell she left part of the acetate without CS so it has a special effect when you look at it both open and closed. Thank you Melissa for such a wonderful card. I love to see all your cards when you post them. They are an inspiration.

Thank you to all of you for making my days in March wonderful. Thank you all for stopping by to see "the blog".
