Bling Butterfly

The technique for the butterfly is Washi Paper Piecing from the 08-09/06 Technique Junkie Newsletter. The image is Queen Butterfly by The Artful Stamper, a company out of Canada. The paper I used was Italian Venetian Paper purchased from Washi Accents at the Stamp Fest in Kissimmee, FL, a couple of weeks ago. It is the pattern below, but with gold filigree spread throughout. The butterfly was stamped, embossed, and then cut out. The wings were curled so they would rise up a little from the card. Dimensional stickers were used down the middle of the butterfly's body. The wing tails have pieces of glue dots to hold them in place. The butterfly's antennae are from some brown waxed linen thread I had. I rolled them on the Versmark pad, embossed, and then mount them under the head with glue dots.

The words are from Word I Plate by Rubber Stamp Tapestry and stamped with Stazon Timber Brown. The rhinestones are from Mark Richards Crystal Stickers Elements. The ruffles along the bottom were punched on pink and yellow vellum using Martha Stewart's Doily Lace Edge Border Punch. All of the above were mounted on Classic Solar White Laid cardstock by Neenah Paper. It has a woven look and finish to it. Finally it was mounted on a tan piece of marbled parchment cardstock. The ribbon is from Michaels.

Thanks for stopping by "the blog" to look.
